What everyone had to say.

I finally got to go on everyone's blog today.  I wish I had more time to read what they all said on the artists we read about.  I am sure that I would have learned alot more about each of the artist.

Accidents

While I was supposed to be working on homework, and wasn't I came across an actor.  His name is Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is in the Broadway play In the Heights. The first video was from his wedding, and I think it is so funny!  I googled his name and found the second video, and was inspired amazing and educated.  I never new anything about Alexander Hamilton, but I learned alot from his video.  I am always amazed at how some people can over come.  Please watch for a smile, and to be inspired by what other have over come.  Have a great weekend!

Untitled Film Still #3. 1977
Cindy Sherman:
This picture reminded me of the movie Psycho. It was interesting to see a woman artist work.  Again I found her work to be boring and uninteresting.  I like the humor in the photographs from Teun Hocks, I don't understand the significance behind her photos.  I really found her color photographs difficult to look at, the were creepy.  The women looked like mannequins, very unrealistic.

Jeff Wall, Milk, 1984, transparency, light box

Jeff Wall was my least favorite artist that we learned about.  While I didn't care for Gregory Crewsdon's work I found it much more appealing than Jeff Wall's.  Mr. Wall's work is very simple, some what boring to me.  I didn't care for the subject that Mr. Crewsdon used, there was so much more to look at.

Teun Hocks
Untitled (Behind the desk)
I really enjoyed Mr. Hock's work.  I would have loved to post everyone of his pictures, they really make me smile.  I like this one because I can relate to how this man feels.  When I am writing out my bills I feel like it is draining the very lifes blood out of me.  I like how he has the boring brown colors, and it has a dark feeling to it except for the white papers.
